Kappa Kappa Psi operates as a student service and leadership organization whose chief aim is to assist the band's director in developing the leadership and enthusiasm of the band. Kappa Kappa Psi's goals are to provide the band with service activities and offer their member's experience in organization, leadership, and social contacts. The honorary nature of Kappa Kappa Psi membership is based on their promise that it is an honor to be selected to serve the band.
Membership in Kappa Kappa Psi is educational, social, and service-oriented. It is this kind of activity that enriches your life and sharpens your appreciation for the best music.
“The Crest and Crowning of all Good, life’s final star, is Brotherhood.”
Since its charter was established, the Eta Beta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi has assumed several responsibilities and activities in view of its national goal. Such activities include stage setups for performing groups, upkeep of the rehearsal field, and publicity for band functions. Eta Beta continually seeks outstanding bandsmen to join their fraternity and strive for the highest. Many brothers participate not only in the Marching Virginians, but also in the University Symphony Band, Wind Ensemble, Campus Band, Jazz Band, and the Pep Band.
Each member of Kappa Kappa Psi comes from a different background and different majors. We all have our individual paths to follow, yet we come together to honor the bands of Virginia Tech, including The Marching Virginians, The Highty-Tighties, and all others involved in college band work. Along with our commitment to the band, we have a commitment to one another. Whether we be brother or sister, musician or engineer, artist or architect, and no matter the nationality, as brothers we maintain one another to ensure we all achieve the pinnacle of our abilities.
If you care to learn more about us, such as our age, hometown, or just a short summary of what we believe defines "us", please visit the Brothers page.
